ABINGTON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL - DIXON SCHOOL OF NURSING

If you are a medical student who wants to make a difference in your professional career as well as in the lives of all those you help, then the nursing academics offered at the Abington Memorial Hospital Dixon School of Nursing in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, can help. All nursing instructors have earned advanced-level credentials in nursing, so you can be sure the instruction you receive will be top notch. As a hospital-based program, you will gain plenty of practical experience work... ing in diverse clinical settings. Your education will be enhanced by patient simulation projects, computerized medical scenarios and access to the most advanced technology and equipment available. Besides working directly in the Memorial Hospital, you will also have the opportunity to lend your services to clinics throughout the Willow Grove community. Organizations like The Horsham Clinic and The Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania work with Memorial Hospital to offer rotation experiences. Students who successfully completing the nursing training program and pass the NCLEX-RN licensing exam will be eligible to transfer into baccalaureate nursing programs. Dixon determines admissions based on applicants’ official high school transcripts, SAT scores and two letters of recommendation. The Dixon School of Nursing awards a merit scholarship to students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and the potential for success. Students must maintain a GPA of 3.0 and earn 75% or higher on the TEAS test. Additional forms of financial aid offered to qualifying students by Dixon include federal Pell grants, direct student loans and Pennsylvania State grants.More
