ALLEGHENY WESLEYAN COLLEGE

Allegheny Wesleyan College’s central mission is to provide a Bible-based education to those who wish to spread the teachings of the Bible through ministry, education and other means. Located in Salem, Ohio, Allegheny Wesleyan’s academics include degrees in Elementary Education and Music Education. Students in these majors also study the Bible and the teachings of Christ, so that they might incorporate these teachings into their work as educators. Other available majors include Pastoral Mis... sions and Cross-Cultural Missions. Students in these majors develop a concise plan for communicating the teachings of the Bible. Those in the Cross-Cultural Missions program focus on ways of ministering to minorities and come up with a specific plan of just how they will do that. Students in the ministry programs also engage in community service activities at a local church of their choosing. The primary pre-requisite for admissions is a commitment to the teachings of the Bible and Biblical ministry. Applicants will also need to submit an admissions application transcripts and either SAT scores or scores from the College Entrance Board Examination. Applicants must interview with one of the school’s admissions advisors, as well. Allegheny Wesleyan offers many different scholarships, including talent scholarships for Music Education majors, senior citizen scholarships, academic scholarships and scholarships for children of pastors and missionaries.
