Altos Health creates value through direct, long-term, hands-on participation in its portfolio companies and with their management teams. They spend time with the team every week. They provide strategic guidance at the board level, take on operational roles when needed, recruit key talent, and arrange business development discussions with potential customers and strategic investors. Portfolio companies access a network of specialists created by Altos Health in such disciplines as reimbursement, compliance, regulatory affairs, intellectual property, information systems, and clinical trial design. The firm invests its own capital and also works with portfolio company management to raise additional funds when needed from the equity and debt communities.
