ACVAA promotes veterinary anesthesiology and pain management research and teaching. ACVAA board-certified professionals in veterinary anaesthesia and analgesia are experts in the assessment and mitigation of anaesthetic risks, the administration of anaesthetic and analgesic drugs, the maintenance and monitoring of the anaesthetized patient's physiologic well-being, and the provision of the highest levels of perioperative patient care, including pain management.
