AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF ULTRASOUND IN MEDICINE

American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine is a multidisciplinary association dedicated to advancing the use of ultrasound in medicine through professional and public education, research, development of guidelines, and accreditation. Their membership consists of more than 10,000 sonographers, physicians, scientists, engineers, other health care providers, manufacturers of ultrasound equipment, and students. They develop specific funding mechanisms to support medical ultrasound research in education, basic science, technology development, and clinical applications of ultrasound. They provide quality professional education, encourage lifelong learning, and promote the importance and value of medical ultrasound.
