AR15.Com is an online firearm community promoting shooting sports, freedoms, and discussions. It was launched as a mailing list for firearm enthusiasts. Then a bulletin board was added to AR15.Com to create a more interactive experience for the growing list of users. In 2001, AR15.Com scrapped the common software used throughout the internet and began to create custom software for its users. The platform was changed to better handle the flow of information as well as a new goal, the long term storage of information. AR15.Com was launched in 1996 and is based in Rockwall, T.X.
