The Corporation has employees and consultants with more than 200 years of combined experience in the aggregates industry to identify, explore and develop aggregate resources. Their team members have been involved with numerous acquisitions of aggregate resources and operations in Alberta. Currently, the Corporation holds Alberta Metallic and Industrial Minerals Permits on 194,348 hectares (480,244 acres) largely located in the Fort McMurray region in northeast Alberta. The Alberta Government has identified a rich variety of industrial minerals in this region such as silica sand and salt. These minerals are key ingredients for many products used to support the oil sands industry and Alberta infrastructure projects. The Corporation continues to assess its permitted land holdings for development based on mineral exploration programs that employ such methods as airborne magnetic surveys, stream sediment and outcrop sampling and deep well drilling. Currently, the Corporation also holds Alberta Metallic and Industrial Minerals Leases on seven mineral leases covering 12,800 hectares (31,629 acres) containing silica sand reserves, and Alberta Metallic and Industrial Minerals Leases on four mineral leases covering 5835.5 hectares (14,420 acres) containing salt reservesMore
