Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine (ATOM) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, offers educational programs in Traditional Chinese Medicine that also incorporate eclectic medical approaches. Students get opportunities to work with patients and the chance to treat underserved members of the community, as well. The Traditional Chinese Medicine program takes three years for full-time students to complete. They spend part of the second year doing basic treatments at the student clinic. In their final year, students administer acupuncture and provide complete medical treatments. ATOM students also volunteer their time by providing acupuncture and other medical services to low-income individuals throughout the community. In addition to the master’s degree program, ATOM offers continuing education courses for practitioners who would like to enhance their skills. Admissions requirements include a bachelor’s degree and at least three units in the Humanities, three units of Social Science, three units of English and courses in Math and Biological Sciences. ATOM offers financial aid through Stafford and Plus loans. Eligible military veterans may also receive tuition benefits.More
