Baptist University of America (BUA) is a four-year Christian school that is primarily dedicated to educating the Hispanic residents of the Texas/Mexico border. Located in San Antonio, BUA awards select bachelor’s and associate’s degrees in: *Business *Biblical/Theological Studies *Cross-Cultural Studies Throughout their two or four years at BUA, students receive academic and career advising as well as spiritual advising through pastoral and Christian-oriented family counseling. Attendance at a certain number of chapel services per year is also required. Hispanic-oriented cultural activities are another part of BUA’s college life, and include a Hispanic Ambassadors Club and a Hispanic Mission Society. Admissions requirements include an application, application fee, three recommendation letters (one of which must be from one’s church), a personal essay and school transcripts. Financial aid offerings come from various sources including rehabilitation and veteran’s benefits, Pell grants, an Academic Competitiveness Grant, and work-study and loan programs. Additionally, there are outside scholarships and tuition assistance programs designed specifically for minorities and for Texas students pursuing ministerial professions.More
