THE BIOTECHNOLOGY INDUSTRY ORGANIZATION
Biotechnology Industry Organization is an association of more than 1000 biotechnology companies, academic institutions, state biotechnology centers, and other related organizations. It provides biotechnology information, advocacy, and business development services for its member companies. The organization offers services that include research and development of healthcare, agricultural, industrial, and environmental biotechnology products such as pharmaceuticals, drug discovery and development, genomics, and proteomics. Founded in 1993, Biotechnology Industry Organization is based in Washington, District of Columbia. It was created through the merger of the Industrial Biotechnology Association and the Association of Biotechnology Companies.
