Bluestem Ventures was started from a recognized need to provide nontraditional capital to local companies and entrepreneurs in need of financing. After identifying the wealth of both intellectual and financial capital not being effectively utilized, along with the number of inadequately resourced business, founders of Bluestem Ventures decided to mobilize to more effectively join the supply of capital with its demand. They are a group of leading business executives, private investors, bank... ers, researchers, doctors and emerging entrepreneurs with expertise in a variety of markets and technologies. They provide both financial and intellectual capital and a network of industry resources to growing companies. They do not limit their focus to one market or technology, but seek diversified opportunities in a variety of sectors. Similarly, they do not specialize in a particular stage of financing, but rather seek both mature and early-stage business opportunities.
