BRITISH BOARD OF FILM CLASSIFICATION
British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) is an independent non-governmental organization responsible for the national classification and censorship of films within the United Kingdom. It has a statutory requirement to classify videos, DVDs, and some video games under the Video Recordings Act 2010. The organization was set up by the film industry as an independent body to bring a degree of uniformity to the classification of films nationally. It is a non-profit organization and its fees are adjusted only to cover its costs. It consults the Department of Culture, Media, and Sports before making any changes to its fees.
