Capital Area School of Practical Nursing If you’re ready to take the next step in your nursing career, earning your LPN is a great option. The Capital Area School of Practical Nursing (CASPN)’s focused academics include a short, intensive program resulting in a certificate. Once you’ve finished the program, you’ll be eligible to take the exam to earn your LPN license in Illinois. The program, which lasts nine months, comprises four sequential terms. CASPN is eligible for federal financial aid programs, including grants, loans and VA benefits. Outside scholarships are also a good source for financial aid. If you’re interested in tuition assistance, the first step is the file the FAFSA. In order to enroll at CASPN, you must be at least 17 years old and a high school graduate (or equivalent). CPR certification and a CNA are required, and you must be able to pass a background check and drug screening. Admissions at CASPN are rolling, so it’s a good idea to apply early before space fills.
