CARBON ROOTS INTERNATIONAL
Carbon Roots International was founded in 2010 after Eric Sorensen, Hannah Erickson, and Ryan Delaney traveled to Haiti's devastated rural areas and recognized the potential benefits of introducing biochar and green charcoal systems to Haitian farmers. The trip highlighted the need for a low-cost, replicable development strategy to address three prevailing issues: deforestation, insufficient food production, and a lack of financial opportunities in rural areas.
