Part of the Carolinas Medical Center, Carolinas College of Health Sciences in Charlotte, North Carolina offers some of the most advanced and specialized healthcare training in the country. At Carolinas College, students may attend a two-year program in Radiation Therapy, Surgical Technology, Nursing and Radiologic Technology, among others. There are also continuing education options, which provide short-term training in such specialized areas as CPR, Cancer Massage, Phlebotomy and IV Therapy. ... Carolinas College of Health Sciences is particularly well known for its Simulation Center. One of the few schools to have integrated this innovative facility, the Simulation Center simulates the experience of a hospital through use of mannequins and performance of actual medical procedures. Outside of class, students participate in professional clubs or organizations. Designed to enhance professional skills, these include a Student Nurses Association, a Student Ambassadors club and the Student Government Association. Those who are interested in attending Carolinas College are encouraged to attend an information session. Application requirements vary from one program to another, with certain programs requiring SAT or ACT scores, for example. In addition to a wide range of scholarships awarded through Carolinasโ Healthcare program, loans and grants may be available to eligible students.
