CURRENT2CURRENT LTD
Current2Current Ltd is an energy company that has developed a revolutionary Tidal Energy Converter known as the 'PowerGill'. The PowerGill diverts a horizontal flow to a vertical flow which is exhausted through a vertical axis turbine. This makes the device very stable as it creates a downforce as it works which increases proportionally as the flow increases. This downforce means that the foundation requirements and installation costs are expected to be significantly reduced compared to other... devices. The PowerGill takes flow from any direction and lends itself to being tolerant of trawling. Current2Current Ltd was formed in 2007 by Brian Barnard and Michael Hoyle in order to design and build a tidal device to harness the energy of water movements as currents flow in and out of tidal areas. With commercialisation just around the corner, Current2Current intends to capture a significant share of the market with its novel use of innovative technology.
