The CWIS company began performing government contracts when the Federal Emergency Management Agency awarded it a contract to perform disaster inspections (FEMA). These mobile inspections were carried out by CWIS in Washington, North Carolina, and Florida. CWIS responded with up to 60 inspectors who performed over 12,000 disaster inspections in less than 36 hours. CWIS' success continued when they were awarded four contracts by the US Department of the Interior (DOI) to assess the correctness and reasonableness of rent allowances provided to DOI workers across the country during a three-year period spanning 22 states.
