DESIGN RESEARCH LAB
Design Research Lab develops interdisciplinary design research projects focused on four areas. They are, embodied interaction design, wearable computing, gender & diversity in ICT, and community infrastructure. It is engaged in mediating the gap between technological innovations and real needs of people in their everyday living environment. Its solutions are focused on the elderly and teenagers, families and singles, people with different abilities and disabilities. Design Research Lab has in... itiated projects such as De-Routing, an experimental approach to local surroundings; Closer, an initiative to link healthcare professionals with patients; CTS Therapy Gauntlet, a therapy device for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, and the research and development of other devices. It has received funds from Telekom Innovation Laboratories, and several other ventures. It has also engaged in several cooperative research projects with Deutsche Telekom, as well as with other public and private partners. Design Research Lab was established in 2010 at University of the Arts, Berlin.
