At the Dragon Rises College of Oriental Medicine in Gainesville, Florida, you’ll receive an integrative educational experience in Oriental Medicine that goes above and beyond traditional Chinese medicine programs. Not only will you learn the history of holistic healing, but you’ll receive instruction in 5 Element Theory and the extensive practices and procedures of Oriental medicine throughout the ages. The program allows in-depth study of both ancient and contemporary holistic practices in... areas like: * Acupuncture * Herbs * Pulse Diagnosis The Dragon Rises College’s academics are unique in that the program exclusively focuses on both the scientific and artistic aspects of pulse diagnosis, which allows you as a holistic practitioner to understand your patients’ emotions, lifestyles and past medical records just by analyzing their pulse. Once you successfully complete the program, you’ll earn both a bachelor’s of Health Sciences and a Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. These credentials will provide you with the education and training to be eligible to take the Florida state board licensing examination. To enroll at the school and train to become a primary holistic practitioner, you must have earned an associate’s degree through a baccalaureate level education at an accredited institution. You must have maintained a composite GPA of 2.5. Additional admissions requirements include being above the age of 18 and completion of a Dragon Rises application. Dragon Rises offers financial aid through Florida Bright Futures grants, federal Stafford loans and PLUS loans.More
