EASTERN MENNONITE UNIVERSITY

While most Christian colleges stress uniformity, Eastern Mennonite University differs in its emphasis on diversity. Despite being a Mennonite school, only about half of EMU’s students are Mennonites, and the campus represents nearly 40 religious groups and denominations. As a Christian university, EMU emphasizes the importance of spirituality in student life. The school holds chapel services every Wednesday and Friday, and each residence hall has a ministry assistant who hosts a weekly bible study. Eastern Mennonite’s academics are also geared toward the Christian student. In addition to traditional college subjects like Biochemistry and English, the university offers concentrations in Christian subjects like Religious & Intercultural Studies and Congregational & Youth Ministry.
