EMMANUEL SCHOOL OF RELIGION

The Emmanuel Christian Seminary in Johnson City, Tennessee, is a graduate-level Christian seminary that aims to prepare men and women for effective ministry in a variety of settings. Whether your interests lie in preaching, pastoral care, Christian education, or campus ministry, among others, the seminary will prepare you for your vocation. The seminary is dedicated to Christianity and the authority of the scripture as espoused by Thomas, Alexander Campbell and Barton W. Stone. College life on... campus and in Johnson City contains many outdoor opportunities, from trail hiking in Elizabethton and Carter County to admiring the Watauga Lake. For those less interested in outdoor physical activity, the school also offers a campus storytelling center, many churches, a variety of local restaurants and the annual Apple Festival. Academics include a doctorate in Divinity and Theological Studies. Admissions require applicants to submit an application, an official transcript from every college attended, three letters of recommendation (preferably from a former teacher, minister and employer) and a brief essay describing your background. Students who complete a FAFSA and Emmanuel’s aid application will be considered to receive financial aid through many institutional scholarships based on residency, academic achievement or field of concentration.More
