ENGLISH CENTER FOR INTERNATIONAL WOMEN

The English Center for International Women and Men in Oakland, California, is dedicated to transforming immigrants and international students into proficient English speakers who can participate in the social, political and economic opportunities of 21st century America. In addition to helping students master the English language, the school integrates acculturation into the American culture into all its courses so that students may better adapt to living, working and studying in the United Sta... tes. The school offers many internships and job placement opportunities to all students, assisting students with the transition from school into the workforce. Outside of class, students may experience the wonders of California, from the Yosemite National Park to the Point Reyes National Seashore to Los Angeles. Student life is also enriched by the cultural and entertainment opportunities of the nearby Jack London Square in San Francisco. Academics include programs designed for academic and career preparation. These include the Career Readiness Program, Academic and Professional Program and Health Care Careers Program. Students may also enroll part-time and take individual courses in Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening and many more. Students who complete a FAFSA may be eligible to receive financial aid through federal, institutional and state grants.More
