Fort Peck Community College is a reservation-based community college in Poplar, Montana. Situated on the Fort Peck reservation, it offers members of the Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes professional and academic degree and certificate programs in a community that fosters cultural commitment and awareness. Fort Peck has an open admissions policy and, while it will accept anyone with a high school diploma or GED, it is primarily committed to educating those from tribal communities. In addition to these requirements, applicants must take a placement exam. Fort Peck only offers financial aid awards that do not need to be paid back. These include federal grants, work-study programs, a Bureau of Indian Affairs grant, and scholarships, such as the one from the American Indian College foundation. Fort Peck also provides veteran’s benefits and tuition waivers to certain populations, including senior citizens and recent GED recipients.More
