GAME ARKOS - LER é PODER

The Arkos - Ler é Poder project was inspired by one of Europe 's most successful educational initiatives, encouraging millions of students to read more. The basic idea is simple: the student earns points, medals and other virtual prizes for each book he reads. The pedagogical and methodological theory behind this success is the gamification that has already been receiving good results in education. We have improved this idea and adapted it to Brazil. This tool is intended for students in grades... 2-5. In 2014, there were 25,000 students from 300 public and private schools. This year we have passed the 40,000 registered students. The results show that it is indeed possible to make a significant difference in teaching children. In a survey conducted in 2014 with more than 150 teachers, 99% said that their students improved their interpretation of texts with Arkos and we were able to raise the average number of books read from 1 book per month to 5 books per month per student.
