Genesee Community College is a standard community college in many ways, but more like a university in others. A performing arts center on the Genesee campus gives students the chance to perform in plays and music and dance events. Entertainment is also offered regularly on the Genesee campus, including a weekly event featuring musical, comedy and other types of talent. Those interested in applying for admission will need to submit an application along with transcripts or a copy of their GED. Students then take a placement exam to determine which level Math and English courses they should take. Interviews and tours of the school are encouraged as well. Genesee has generous financial aid packages and provides millions in aid every year. Need-based aid consists of federal and state grants, work-study and loans.
