Germanna Community College, one of 23 community colleges in Virginia, is a two-year public college established in 1970. Germanna Community College has different application processes based upon your program of choice. Students who wish to enter the Nursing and Health Technologies Program will have to submit additional paperwork. When filling out your application, make sure to indicate whether you are an in-state or out-of-state student, as tuition rates vary depending on your status. After completing the GCC applications, students must meet further admissions requirements before signing up for classes. All students must be assessed through placement tests, transcripts and SAT/ACT scores. After submitting your transcripts and completing the assessment test, students will meet with a counselor in order to discuss goals and financial planning. GCC offers financial aid through several sources including payment plans through credit or workforce. Students can take advantage of the automatic payment plan, which allows them to have their payments automatically deducted from their accounts so they do not have to remember each payment deadline. Germanna also offers financial aid through federal Pell grants, Military Service grants, Federal Supplemental Opportunity grants, and On Ramp grants in addition to state grants. Financial aid is available to those who can demonstrate financial need, have a high school diploma, have a valid Social Security number and maintain satisfactory academic progress.More
