Rhombus Energy Acquires Energy Development Associates

April 30, 2015 - Rhombus Energy Solutions acquired Energy Development Associates. EDA is located in Dearborn, Michigan and has a 25-year history in developing electric vehicles and power conversion solutions. Prior owners of EDA include Ford, Ballard, Siemens and Continental, all of which made significant investments in developing EDA products, IP, and infrastructure.

Rhombus works to solve the world’s energy challenges by designing and deploying the most innovative and efficient power conversion, control, and distributed energy management solutions. Rhombus offers both contracted product development services and private label advanced power conversion products in the 3 - 50kW range. EDA offers high-power testing services and products ranging from 30kW – 1mW.

The acquisition brings significant benefits and expertise with an expanded product line that includes: regenerative battery test systems, grid tie energy storage inverters, renewable energy converters, battery and fuel cell EV drive systems, phase converters, battery management systems and micro-turbine-based power converters.
