In Memoriam is a Latin phrase that roughly translates to, “in memory of”, and we think it’s a perfect name for an organization dedicated to archiving and indexing work related to death and dying.

Our History
In Memoriam has its roots in the death positive movement. When our archivist first became interested in all things death-related, she knew she wanted to support the movement and those working within it, but also knew that a career change and a trip to mortuary school wasn’t in the cards. Instead, she decided to combine her passions for information, archives, and death positivity, and voilà! In Memoriam was born.

Our Team
In Memoriam is run by Archivist X, an academic library tech. and archivist from Ontario, Canada.
