Working towards the proportional representation of Black & Latinx technologists in the innovation economy.

About us

Code2040 is a community of Black and Latinx technologists and their allies who are diversifying tech to create a more equitable, inclusive, and prosperous economy. Through high-impact direct service programs, robust in-person and online community engagement, and dynamic storytelling and knowledge sharing, Code2040 empowers and mobilizes diversity champions across the industry. Our goal is to ensure that by 2040 – the beginning of the decade when the US will be majority people of color – Black and Latinx people are fully represented in and leading the innovation economy, and have the economic and social capital needed to thrive and build generational wealth.

  • Supporting tech workers alone will never be enough in a system that is fundamentally unjust. As such, we are scaling and democratizing 10 years of racial equity curricula, data, thought leadership, and learnings to support stakeholders to build more equitable workplaces. Join us.

  • Over the last decade we’ve learned so much and internalized those lessons in order to strengthen the Fellows Program. Largely in response to the industry’s divestment from DEI, we've doubled our program from 9 weeks to 10 months, organized regional gatherings to strengthen community, and increased mentorship opportunities. Your support is what keeps us going. Join us, follow the QR code in the last slide or click the link below. https://lnkd.in/euPSS29D

  • Code2040 was founded one decade ago A decade ago, only 1% of Google’s tech employees were Black and 2% Latinx. Since then, these numbers have risen only minimally. Since our founding, we’ve known DEI is imperative. Without it business as usual continues. At Code2040, we imagine a better world for our people and our communities.
