German Voice AI Agents - too slow? Too robotic? Think again! 💭 I know, everyone is talking about Agentic AI, and yet we keep hearing the same concerns - German voice AI is either too slow or sounds unnatural. Well, it doesn’t have to be that way. Of course, getting this right isn’t trivial. Latency isn’t just about one factor - it’s about: - The right LLM setup (deployment, token throughput, content filtering, ...) - Speech-to-text & text-to-speech optimization (vendor, model, deployment, streaming vs. batch, ...) - Orchestration of all other AI, telephony & backend systems without adding overhead And yes, our latency is real. No sped-up demo edits. No delayed answer cuts. But why does this matter? Because customer experience is the last true differentiator in several industries. Take energy utilities: customers switch providers every year for a better price. But I’d think twice if my provider offered such seamless, proactive and personalized service. And before you think, “I'll just build this with OpenAI or Google” - good luck when you need full control in certain situations. You don't want to rely on your prompt engineering skills and just hope that your AI agent does what you instructed. Especially in critical processes like authentication, there’s no room for guesswork or hallucination. You need a binary outcome: one or zero, authenticated or not. And that’s just one example where control matters. Sometimes you want full conversational flexibility, and sometimes you want strict, rule-based automation processes.
