Many of you have heard the old adage, "If you teach someone to fish..." The second part of this ancient proverb resonates with me even more - "you feed them for a lifetime". I have been in the nonprofit space for many years and have handed out many fish - a box of food, a night's lodging, a bus pass, etc. While this was important work and it made an immediate impact in someone's life, the results were often short lived. The work I do now enables me to see long-term change as individuals learn how to manage their personal finances and through the process of empowerment take action. Here is the exciting part - the information they learn today can be used in the future for similar life events and shared with their family members as well. Our agency works tirelessly to give individuals hope - those who are in financial duress due to exorbitant debt, those who are one step away from losing their homes as well as those who aren't quite sure how much house they can afford, how they can increase their credit scores, or how to save for life's unexpected curveballs. Our agency provides most of its services free of charge and we depend on donations, grants, and fundraising to make this possible. Our 2nd Annual Diamond Heist Mystery Dinner is only 12 days away (Saturday, April 20) and we still have some seats to fill. Would you please consider purchasing a ticket today? Join us in teaching others how to fish. For more information or to purchase tickets, please visit our website at https://cccsonline.org/ and click on the pop-up event poster or click on the QR code that appears in the information below. See you at the Heist!
