  • 🌍 Prevention is not only possible but necessary 🌍 As 2024 draws to a close, our CEO, Rebekah Lisgarten, reflects on the incredible progress we’ve made together. This year, thanks to the unwavering support of our donors and team, we’ve proven that prevention is not only possible but necessary. Together, we are building a world where trafficking is prevented, lives are transformed and hope thrives. Looking ahead, 2025 holds exciting opportunities, and we can’t wait to share more in January. But for now, we invite you to read Rebekah’s full end-of-year message below and celebrate the impact we’ve made together. Thank you for standing with us in this mission. Together, we can STOP THE TRAFFIK. #EndHumanTrafficking

    • A black and white, grainy photograph of STOP THE TRAFFIK's CEO, Rebekah Lisgarten, holding a microphone and smiling. The image was placed on a dark green background, with an off-white swish outlining the photo of Rebekah.

The text next to the image on the left reads: As we reflect on 2024, I am struck by how far we've come together.
    • Every case we see of someone not trafficked represents so much: a person spared from unimaginable violence and trauma, someone who can work legitimately and often support their family and loved ones, and a contribution to reduced crime in the communities we all share.

This year, our donors have invested in a brighter future with us. Together, we declare that prevention is not only possible but necessary. I am immensely proud of the team who have worked tirelessly to make this vision a reality, and profoundly grateful to every donor and supporter who has carried us through.

Looking ahead, we have an exciting year planned, with updates to share in January. We know we have something that works - we just need to spread it as far as possible as we edge closer to a world where people are not bought and sold.

Thank you for believing in this mission and for standing with us in this fight. Together, we are building a future.

🚨 New Report Launch: Tackling Human Trafficking in Romania 🚨 Romania is a recognised trafficking hotspot, ranking 46th globally and 20th in Europe and Central Asia for modern slavery. Young women and girls are particularly vulnerable to exploitation. Between May 2023 and August 2024, STOP THE TRAFFIK launched Project Previnera Si Perturbera (PSP)—Prevent to Protect—a targeted initiative to uncover trafficking routes, prevent recruitment, and disrupt organised crime networks. What we achieved: ✅ Targeted digital outreach: We ran geo-targeted campaigns on Facebook and Instagram to deliver safety information directly to those most at risk. ✅ Collaboration in action: We gathered data from 10 frontline organisations analysing 134 anonymised cases, uncovering trends and vulnerabilities. ✅ Disrupting financial exploitation: We delivered a training to  18 financial institutions in Romania, equipping them with the tools to identify and disrupt trafficking operations. At STOP THE TRAFFIK, we know prevention requires collective action—from NGOs to financial institutions and technology platforms. 📊 Read the full report and learn how collaboration prevents exploitation: https://lnkd.in/e-WFxTP6 #EndTrafficking #ModernSlavery #PreventionInAction #Collaboration

🌍🤝 Collaboration is the key to disrupting human trafficking networks and protecting those at risk.     At STOP THE TRAFFIK, we were proud to support Operation CyberProtect, a groundbreaking initiative led by INTERPOL and the OSCE. This first-of-its-kind hackathon explored how digital tools facilitate trafficking, with a focus on the exploitation of Latin Americans in Europe. Through data scrapes of Adult Service Websites and intelligence reports, we provided crucial insights that gave participating countries a solid foundation for investigations—helping detect traffickers and safeguard victims.    As our Director of Intelligence, Nick Dale highlights:    "Cross-collaboration between Law Enforcement Agencies and NGOs is crucial in the fight against human trafficking. NGOs hold valuable information that Law Enforcement Agencies can investigate further, resulting in the detection of traffickers and the safeguarding of victims.     It is only when we work as a unified front that better results can be achieved in the fight against Human Trafficking." 🔗 To read more about this project, click the link: https://bit.ly/4gIo7xQ   Together, we can achieve better results and make a real impact in the fight against human trafficking. 💡
