This talk will explain how we successfully preserved the original gameplay experience by implementing effective optimizations and smart workarounds. Achieving this required not only a solid technical approach but also clear planning and robust risk management. Most of the solutions presented are platform-agnostic and can be applied to any Unreal Engine project.

Recently, two Chernobylite editions (Complete and Premium) launched at the Nintendo eShop, both of which were proudly brought to Switch from Gen 9 by our porting team. To bring the base game, all free content up to date, and all DLCs and extras to Switch, we: ☑️ optimized game logic to operate efficiently within system constraints, ☑️ optimized shaders, materials, and rendering techniques for the Switch’s GPU, ☑️ reworked assets and environments to meet GPU performance targets while preserving the quality of photogrammetry-scanned environments, ☑️ reduced memory usage across multiple game systems to fit within hardware limitations, including enhanced streaming techniques, ☑️ revised the audio pipeline to ensure efficient playback, optimized memory consumption, improved streaming, and maintained high-quality audio, ☑️ updated dependencies to the latest versions to align with certification requirements, ☑️ prepared the game for submission and ensured compliance with all platform performance and functionality standards. If you’re looking for a proven game-porting team, see how we can support your game and get in touch! https://lnkd.in/ddHSwwgu
