I never write a new article without analyzing the SERP.
And you?
Why do I analyze the SERP?
- To understand who is ranking and their strengths.
- To identify the content format they use.
- To explore the topics they cover.
To speed up this process, I use thruuu (obviously, the best SERP analyzer on the market).
In less than 5 minutes, I can get a complete overview of the SERP,
both on-page and on-SERP insights.
Here are my steps:
1️⃣ Check the word count, image count, and average domain authority.
This gives me an immediate sense of the content type and competition level.
2️⃣ Browse the top 3–5 SERP results.
I focus on their structure and headings to understand the format they use and the topics they discuss.
3️⃣ Dive into the most frequent terms (n-grams).
I analyze the words used and, more importantly, the context around them.
It’s not about how often a word appears but about understanding the discussion.
4️⃣ Explore top questions and headings.
Combining PAA (People Also Ask), on-page questions, and top headings helps me identify the answers I need to provide.
It also reveals insights into the searchers' intent and target audience.
5️⃣ Analyze frequent topics discussed.
My goal isn’t to copy but to align with the search intent and cover the expected topics to rank effectively.
6️⃣ Generate new ideas for unique angles.
This is the most exciting part! I brainstorm ways to stand out—whether by tweaking the title, focusing on a niche, or adding expertise I haven’t seen elsewhere.
This analysis guides how I structure my content and ensures my decisions are data-driven.
The next step?
I compile all these findings into a comprehensive content brief.
Result: High-quality content, guaranteed. ✅
