The company does straight up scams.

The company does straight up scams.
Calls you and offers you a set monthly price for 39kr extra a month. That was a great deal.
Two years later when my signed period with them was up, apparently the 39kr extra I paid a month was not for a "set price" but to move the excess of the payment that didn't fit in to the set price on to an account that had to be paid later. So I paid 39kr a month to be able to pay 1800kr two years later. Not a single mention of this when they sold it to me.

Don't trust this company, they use shady tactics to lure customers. Awful and have reported them to Konsumentverket and switched provider.

Charge me more KWH than i use.

OK my mistake. What happened was that electricity meter in my landlords apartment in the basement had broken and couldn't send values. So the issue was settled when the meter was replaced.

I noticed they started to charge me for more kwh than EON where charging me (EON owns the grid so i have to pay them for the basics) They claim EON didn't send them my meter settings but EON said that's not true bc they are sent automatically. When i try to contact Göta Energi via mail they just keep avoiding asnwers and make excuses. I try to mail them my invoices from EON for nov and dec and got an error email back that their inbox was full (files was just around 200k big).

My sambo signed with this company and…

My sambo signed with this company and has recently been sick and come in arrears with payment because of the high prices. She ended up in hospital and unpaid bill at inkasso so they shut off electricity. They said if I pay the inkasso they would return el. I paid but then they would not return el to me and my children who just started summer variation and all food in the freezer left to spoil. Not a humane company.

First of all we'd like to send our best wishes to you and your family in these times.

The process with the electricity turning off is that first we send out reminders for the unpaid invoice, then lowell (inkassobolag) takes over the errand and from then on handle it all.
They send out an invoice, followed by reminders, it takes a while before lowell turns the electricity off.

When it's fully paid to lowell the electricity will with no problems be turned on again by your network owner.

We'd recommend you to contact lowell to make sure it's fully paid followed by your network company so you can get electricity home again.

Do not become their customers

Do not become their customers.
They cheet people.
Last week I met a Göta energy representative at media market. After talking with him,I agreed to become a customer. SO they offered me 500 SEK bonus to buy from media market and told me if I used it, but couldnot become a customer I should pay it back. However, for some problems I could not be their customer. Now, without using that code to buy from media market, I received an invoice that forced me to payback 500 SEK.
I called and ask to inactive the code or I won't use it. However they said use it or not, you should pay the invoice.
Feel that I have been cheated and forced to buy 500 SEK from media market.
Is it a nasty business by media market and GÖTA ENERGY???

Awful phone customer service, great chat service, great prices

As a foreigner, I had no clue how electricity contracts work in Sweden. I found an offer at göta energi that suited me, but i had questions that needed answers before i would agree to sign a contract. After calling and being redirected to about 8 people in 2 days and fighting the damn calling system for 6 hours, without success, i quit the fight. I used the chat system on the website for customer service instead. There, Marika answered me. She helped me with every question I had very efficiently. Her competence is way above this company's standard. So, ask for her on the chat, she will surely help. I am guessing that they redirected me in the phone call system so often because they get some kind of commission on the amount of contracts they sign, so they have no interest in actually helping. So please, fix the damn payroll system for the phone call customer service, and maybe prospective customers will be more positive towards signing with you!

PS. If it were only for Marika, I would have given her 6/5 stars! Also, all the comments for the weird add ons, its true. they have many options. but if youre careful enough, you can easily avoid them. its like buying a plane ticket at a lowcost airline. gotta use 4 eyes to navigate it, but it surely works

Not recommand AT ALL

They started sending sales people in the city center of uppsala and trying to get people sign their electricity contract. They didn't allow people to take their flyers home to take a look, instead, they said that people must sign the contract right now. I was almost tricked by them and almost signed the contract. Until i heard that they are giving out coupons worth of 300 kr for free after becoming their customer. I found it extremely weird. Why a electricity company who claims that they offer the lowest electricity company can also provide 300 kr coupons to their customers? That sounds too good to be true. So i immediately decided to not to continue with signing the contract. And i also looked them up on the internet and found out that they have very bad rating. (At this point I have already entered my personal information, went thourgh the user's condition and the sales person already clicked all the check point for the user's aggrement for me.) So I told the sales person that i don't want to continue anymore because they have very bad rating. Then a "team leader" suddenly jump in saying that all the bad rating is because of the energy crisis and people were angry about that, that is why they receive low ratings. And he also said vattenfall also got very low rating on the internet and it is even lower than them. (Which is not true when i checked later) And that team leader seems to be a bit aggressive when trying to defend their company, that makes me felt uncomfortable. Now i have gave them all my personal information but without signing the contract. A bit worried that they will call me or something...

Scam

They snuck ID projection into my subscription.
Then when I called then and told them to cancel everything, the only cancel my electric.
So I payed 150sek a month for 6 extra months, because they made a mistake.
Then, when I mailed them, and told them about it, they did not even pay me back, and I still had to pay for the next month.

Extremely shady business

Extremely shady business - stay away from Göta Energi. They add random extremely expensive add-ons into contracts without asking the customer, change notice periods without telling etc. Its blatantly clear this is the core of their business by reading reviews here and also noting how their customer service reps behave - they are clearly very accustomed to people not being happy with them as customer service seems to be well trained to handle angry and disappointed customers and refer to obscure "welcome letters" (that never were sent) and obscure terms and conditions. Stay away!

These services are without any bindning period so no customer is required to keep the service after the free period.

Really dishonest company

Really dishonest company. I was trapped by their sales people. To be honest I don’t speak Swedish. So they tricked me and said this was the best deal ever. Then they asked me to sign. But then I asked specifically is this a contract that I’m signing? They said no this is just a price check against my current provider and it’s not a contract, someone will call me in 7 days and see if I want to go ahead. Then they asked me to sign with BankID and I asked again is this a contract I’m signing. They said no the bankid is just for GDPR purposes. Completely lied about everything. Do not trust them on anything and just run the other way.

How can i stop the contract that i had signed in 40 minutes ago. I told the person that i talk to that i will think about it but he told me to just sen ok. I don’t want to change my el bolaget!

Really good customer service. Electric bills are cheaper, "save some money". Now we pay summer electricity so even cheaper. I would warmly recommend them.

Tricking elderly to have long contracts that they do not really wanted or agreed to at all.
This shady company should be avoided.

What you're describing doesn't really reflect our business as we don't make any changes to people's contracts without their approval. While many companies automatically extend customers contract after the initial period has expired we do not work like that. A contract with us always ongoing without bindning period after initial period as expires unless otherwise is requested by the customer.

They trick people into 12 or 24 month kontakt with out informing the customer. Everything sound good but never ends up as such.
