Shockingly bad at cleaning

Shockingly bad at cleaning, not even great at rearranging and straightening up. Surfaces were left sticky, bookcase (the only piece of furniture which needed dusting) hadn't been dusted at all, baseboards untouched, trash not taken out. I booked a deep clean of a small 600ft apartment and it was the worst cleaning ever. Also incredibly over priced!

The Minte Customer Service Stinks!

I've been using The Minte weekly and have been loving the service. Last week when the cleaners didn't arrive in the morning as requested I messaged their customer service saying there was a no show and can we reschedule. After a couple hours after reaching out they finally arrived but we were back in the unit with our out of town guests and it was too late for cleaning. The customer service rep was very snarky telling me the morning requested window was just that, a request and they can come when they want. Since they arrived in the afternoon they charged me though the service was never provided. Their customer service stinks!

Good but not very thorough

Good but not very thorough. Everything was put away nicely. Vacuuming was not very thorough - still saw visible pieces of debris on floor that should have been picked up. There was no checklist inside apartment or door hanger on outside indicating cleaning was completed.

High-Quality Services at Reasonable Rates!

We've used 3 other companies in the Crystal City (VA) area and The Minte has proven to be the most reliable while still being affordable. We've had about 5 cleaning services provided and I'd rate 4/5 of those as "Outstanding!" and 1/5 as "Sufficient/good". Each staff member that has gone through our place has been professional and kind. There were some scheduling hiccups but I'd say it was more my fault and and the limitations of their reservation system (I wanted first Mondays of each month). In any event, The Minte has always been accommodating of my schedule and to any last-minte changes that needed to be made.

Given that this is the 4th company we've been through in the last year, it's safe to say I have high standards so please consider this review well-vetted.

Minte at Emerson

Rebecca has been cleaning my apartment for a few months now since I started the service and has done a great job every time.

I look forward to going home every other Wednesday after it is done and cannot say how much it has helped keep my apartment organized.

Minte is a great service and Rebecca does an A+ job!

Last cleaning was late and incomplete…

Last cleaning was late and incomplete compared to previous cleanings.I made management aware of the problem, so hopefully it will not be repeated. Service has been great up until this time. This was a hotel style cleaning, and the person doing the cleaning quit after 1 hour and left. Normally the cleaning of a 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit takes at least 2 hours, sometimes almost 3.
Also, I work from home, so I cannot set aside 5 hours to accommodate someone’s schedule.

Although there is a suggested timeframe, our Housekeepers should still follow the Minte standards and provide the full scope of services included in the hotel-style clean. Horrible customer service

The cleaning themselves are ok (the thoroughness is highly dependent on the individual cleaner), but the customer service is absolutely, shockingly bad. They clearly have no idea how to manage schedules and are not helpful in any way. The app is difficult to manage and there is no way to track when your cleaner will arrive - even when you request "morning" the cleaners are ALWAYS late so its just luck if yours will show up when you schedule.

I am satisfied with the service in that…

I am satisfied with the service in that the staff members are following most of my requests that I made. I want to ask them again to refresh the air by opening the windows and to close them after the refreshing. Also, please close the plugs in the sink and the bathroom

Failed to deliver requested cleaning…

Failed to deliver requested cleaning service. Called to ask why. Minte stated they would reschedule and complete the service paid for. No follow up occurred from Minte. I’ve called and left messages to follow up with Minte and there has been no response.

A company that’s customer service focused with no customer service likely has a bleak future.

It was awful- I tried to adjust my plan…

It was awful- I tried to adjust my plan after our first clean but platform was inflexible so I cancelled my plan altogether and they wouldn’t refund at ALL. I even tried to complain to my credit card company but Minte fought back and ultimately I was not reimbursed. I wouldn’t recommend this service to ANYONE.

Good service, Shady business

Great model and cleaners were all excellent! The company has poor, even rude middle management with poor communications. The company also appears to be shortchanging their workers’ tips and misrepresenting what they pay them (only $2/hour extra). I'm concerned staff members were fired wrongfully for raising concerns about both.

Thank you for the note. It gives us a chance to clarify. We have never claimed to tip $2 per hour; our policy is that tips are welcome but not required, as our housekeepers make a base wage and have benefits.

We love when residents leave tips. In the future, they will even be able to do so on the app. As of now, tips are direct from residents to housekeepers; while we never would, there also is no way we even could shortchange someone. Hope this clears things up!

Quality Degrades quickly

The first couple times Minte provided cleaning services for my apartment were spectacular. They did a very through job of cleaning and dusting including; making the bed, dusting everything, cleaning appliances, and taking out the rubbish bin. However, within a few weeks the quality of cleaning drastically degraded. I canceled the services after discovering the staff was using my personal cleaning supplies, which I keep on hand for small messes. This along with the sub-par level of service was very disappointing.

Avoid

Avoid, avoid, avoid. I was one of at least two residents in our building in River North who had property stolen by a Minte employee while they were cleaning. The company defended the employee, and the only recourse we have is to warn others.

The service is great until something…

The service is great until something happens. We had the Minte clean our apartment starting in April of 2019. We enjoyed the service as our place was always clean when we returned home. Unfortunately, during one of the cleanings in November, my wife's engagement ring was stolen at the same time the employee Minte was cleaning our place. The ring was in a box in a closet that supposedly was against Minte's policy to clean. It was not lying out in the open, and my wife was home during the cleaning. During the police investigation, it became clear that the Minte had not taken meaningful action on several earlier complaints of theft by this employee. (The employee was previously accused of stealing earphones and rings that were later reported as being pawned at local pawnshops). Even after the police report, the Minte has refused to take any responsibility for the theft (It is now July and the Minte has still not resolved our complaint) or resolve our concerns about their services. We share this so if you use their service, make sure you secure any valuables in locked areas to prevent their disappearance!
