High-level overview of the core platform features
Capcade is a secure collaboration platform designed to relieve the friction in cross-entity workflows and information sharing. At the heart of the platform are workspaces. Workspaces are configured with different sets of modules (tools) to achieve different purposes and solve different problems. These modules include:

Tasks
This module enables to you to manage projects, workflows, processes, requests, and a whole lot more. With Capcade, all of this can happen across entities. If you have a process or project that requires your team and an external service provider, you can coordinate this with ease by mapping it out in a task module and assigning tasks to the relevant users as if you were part of one team.
In the task module, you can:
Build out task lists, with subtasks, dependencies, priorities, amongst many other attributes
Assign it to other users you collaborate with on the platform who will be responsible for completing the tasks
Connect tasks to other workspace elements for additional context
Map out and manage standalone projects, opportunity tasks, roadmaps, deal checklists, and repeatable processes by cloning pre-defined task sets
Manage your tasks in the Gantt chart, which enables and facilitates workflow and process and dependency planning
Bring tasks into a canvas (discussed below) to monitor project and/or workflow progress, to give actionable oversight into operations, risks, workload, etc.
Data Room
This is a secure virtual data room that enables you to create, store, access and manage documents. Use this as your “single source of truth” to eliminate data and information silos.
In a data room, you can:
Store, edit, access and manage documents, with advanced version control to eliminate chaotic email threads with multiple versions circulating
Co-create in real time with your team or external collaborators (we have integrated with Microsoft Online), and mention other users in comments for efficient clarification and decision making
Ensure only the right people have access to each document, and redact, watermark and even lock documents inside your data room for additional layers of security
Access insights and analytics around who is engaging with the documents and to what degree
Analyze documents with generative AI (premium feature)
File Request
The file request module is an extension of the data room, and our solution to the problem of document gathering. It allows you to streamline document gathering and reporting.
With this module, you can create “file requests” which allow you to:
Give context of what must be submitted, along with deadlines
Pre-define the destination folder, and automatically tag the documents once they arrive
Assign reporters who are responsible for delivering the file, and send them reminders, or
Create public drop-zones or customized email addresses, to make document gathering easy even if the responsible parties are not Capcade users!
Canvas
This is a configurable and media rich user-built dashboard, which can pull information, data, documents and workflows from all of the other modules. To achieve this, make use of the many available widget options, which include calendar, task list and task preview widgets, Media widgets (images, videos, text and document previews), connections widgets, and locations/map widgets, among many others.
With the canvas module, you can:
Leverage external data streams and tools by connecting and embedding tools you use every day, including Pitch, YouTube, PowerBI etc.
Build visual and interactive dashboards to gain valuable insights across all sources of data
Collect data, create forms, compile and disseminate the information to the right people in a visually appealing way
Create advanced monitoring and reporting workflow dashboards linked to tasks across workspaces, projects, teams and entities, which give rich insights into process and project delivery
Share your canvases with the right users, empowering anyone to self-serve information efficiently and without the noise
Permission management
Layered on top of all of the modules and features mentioned above, exists Capcade’s advanced, robust and comprehensive permission management. With our permission management system, made scalable and repeatable with our flexible “roles” feature, users can ensure that the right people have the right kind of access to the right sets of information. Everyone can work in one environment, but only access resources they need, when they need them.
Entity administrators can control: Entity access and capabilities, such as which users can edit entity information and settings, access and download platform activity logs, invite other users to the platform, create new workspaces, amongst many more.
Workspace administrators can control: Workspace access and capabilities, such as which users can view or edit each module in the workspace, and which users can view or edit data room items such as individual files and folders.
Communication
Across all of the features mentioned above, lies Capcade’s communication tools, which allow users to collaborate and communicate effectively without ever needing to leave the app or rely on clunky email threads, allowing users to save their inboxes from noise.
To enable this, Capcade offers:
In-app integrated chat, which allows users to communicate one-on-one with each other, or create group chats
Document mentions allow users to add comments and mention each other in documents where it’s relevant
