Tiny Striker: World Football’s Not So Favourable Update v1.2.0

Everyone makes mistakes, and it seems we made a big one with the introduction of the hinder stands in the latest v1.2.0 update.

The decision to include stands on high-tier matches of the game came from the fact that we were hearing that the game was just too easy, throughout. Some players were completing Prem League matches even with low-tier teams, which is a fantastic achievement!

However this feedback made us make the knee-jerk reaction to make the game more difficult for players, with the addition of stands… and oh boy, did we get that wrong! We’ve been closely reading the many reviews and feedback about this new addition, and we apologise for this decision. We will do our very best to turn this frustration around, and bring the game you once loved, back! So please don’t delete the game just yet!!

Some tweaks are live now!

We have already made some temporary tweaks that are live in the game right now. We’ve reduced the number of defenders appearing in layouts in high tier matches to compensate for the addition of stands appearing in the game. So a max of 8 defenders have been reduced to a max of 6 for team matches, from 3 stars and higher, to make room for the new additional stands in the grid.

More permanent fixes coming in v1.2.1

We will be creating a new update just to resolve this issue further. Version 1.2.1 will allow us to tweak this feature on the fly, just like we have just done with defenders, where we will be reducing the negative effect when hitting the stands. We will also stop any reduction of your score bar during Freeze and we will be introducing a new Match Card that can be used to remove the stands from the match. We hope we can reach happy medium between players that do like the new feature, and players that are struggling with the difficulty.

Something positive in v1.2.0

Amongst all the bad vibes, we are very pleased to hear that you are enjoying the new characters, and the ability to customise them with new hair and face styles. Selecting variable colours for hair and skin tones, boot decals on purchased boots and the all important shirt number! It is great seeing all your custom creations appear on Striker TV.

Update v1.2.1 should be released in a few weeks, after which we will switch focus to bring you more great new features in Tiny Striker: World Football.

Tiny Striker: World Football Scores Two Million Downloads

June 2nd, 2017 - Brighton, United Kingdom – Independent developer, Fat Fish Games, today announce that their latest title in the Tiny Sports franchise has surpassed two million downloads, since its worldwide launch on iOS and Android three months ago.

The Apple-featured Tiny Striker: World Football scored its first million downloads within seven days of releasing on the Apple App Store for iOS in February. The release on Android soon followed in March and has since had the fastest adoption rate for the Tiny Sports franchise to date. With the ability to share match highlights across social media channels, this has lead to over 15,000 replays across YouTube and the game’s own match replay hub, Striker TV - powered by Unity’s Everyplay replay service.

Big Feature Update Coming Soon

Since launch, the Fat Fish Games team has been hard at work, releasing regular featured updates for Tiny Striker: World Football. Its biggest update, releasing in a few weeks, will bring greater customisation to your striker, including updated 3D models and the option to play as a female striker. Gameplay has also been improved, with adjustments in difficulty, and players who seek more of a challenge will enjoy the new “Stand” hinderer that feature in high-skilled matches. Team standings have also been updated to reflect the 2016/17 season, and players will be able to complete additional bonus rewards throughout the season.

Tiny Striker: World Football has had chart-climbing success in over 140 countries worldwide. On reflection of this, the next update will feature the first of many languages coming to the game. Spanish and Arabic will be the first languages to be featured, with more languages being added in regular future updates.

The Fat Fish Games team closely monitors each app store review, blog post, online video and game replay to prioritise its next suite of feature updates, so there are many more improvements still to be announced in the forthcoming v1.2.0 update, and future updates that follow. So be sure to check our Dev BlogFacebook and Twitter for more details.

iOS & Android Update 1.1.1 Released

It has been a little wait since our last update, mainly because the team have been busy with our latest update. Tiny Striker: World Football v1.1.1 comes with some superb new features, as we lay out the foundations for further future updates. On top of this, we’ve listened to your feedback and reviews, and we’ve made a number of adjustments throughout the game, so read on for the full details of what is coming.

NEW

Teammate cards & new card slot

To help with match difficulty and to add another layer of strategy, we’ve added a new third card slot. This teammate slot will unlock when you are able to buy the first of two Teammate Match Cards.

There will be two teammate cards, adding up to two teammates on the pitch that will aid you in the match, by simply kicking to them, as you do during Training at the start of the game.

This means you can now add teammates in lower league matches to help less-skilled players with difficult matches, and add a new layer of choice for seasoned players. We have also changed the logic where there will always be a teammate served in every grid layout you face.

Language support system - Part 1

With the game’s successes in other non-English speaking countries, it seems fitting to offer localisation support in the game. To do this, we’ve had to go through the whole game and create an easy way to implement translations into every piece of text we have in the game. Now that we’ve laid the foundations of language support in v1.1.1, the next future update will contain our first 5 languages.

Browse leagues in League Table popup

When you are able to transfer to other countries and leagues, it wasn’t possible to see how well teams were doing in the leagues above and beneath you. In v1.1.1 we’ve created a new feature in the League Table popup, where you can browse up and down through other countries and their league tables.

CHANGES

Teammate removal

To make the game more difficult for seasoned players, we’ve decided to remove teammates from higher league matches.

After close inspection of the gameplay, it didn’t make sense to have them in harder matches, as it made the game easier. Although we’ve removed them from the difficulty of the match, you can continue playing with one or two teammates by adding them via the new +1 and +2 Teammate Match Cards.

To also balance the game, we’ve had to remove the XP rewarded on rebounds by teammates.

Up to 2 teammates can be added to any match and each card has 5 uses.

Revised Next Match & Match Preview popup

To coincide with the extra match card, we’ve had to shuffle the Match Preview around. This is to give you better access to your available cards, which is now located at the bottom of the popup, and we’ve also moved the cards onto a shelf near the top alongside the match preview icons.

The match preview icons have been updated to give you additional information, such as how many defenders have been reduced when a Focus Match Card has been played.

Finally, the Next Match screen displays all three card slots and these slots will not display until you can buy the first card of each slot type.

Improved ‘ghost’ defenders

In v1.1.0 we added a visual way to represent the Focus Match Card, and there were many vocal opinions from our players about this change. Some liked it, but many absolutely hated it.

We still feel that the Focus Card needs to be visualised during the game, so in v1.1.1 we’ve made them more easier to ignore by making them desaturated in colour and they are more faded.

Sponsor costs adjustments

We’ve addressed the cost of selecting sponsors in v1.1.1. The old pricing was too generous for the permanent perks they give your striker, so we’ve reflected the cost based on their XP unlock value.

This in turn gives them a greater sense of value when unlocked, compared to their much cheaper ‘throwaway’ variants in v1.1.0.

In future, sponsors will have even more added value. So by setting the base foundations now will help with the discourse to unlock and equip them.

Card value adjustments

Like Sponsor costs, we are always monitoring gameplay and card usage. As a result, we sometimes feel there needs to be tweaks in the cost of certain Boot and Match cards. The Focus Match Card cost has been changed recently to reflect our discoveries, as it was far too cheap for how much it influenced the match, for a majority of players.

Boot trail particles improved

Small improvements on secondary colours of the trail.

Sponsor branding logos improved

We’ve spent some time in improving the logos for the following sponsors: North Trains, Compare Trade, City University, Arriba Finance, Asia Airlines and Crown Casino.

Added sub tab alert badges (Sponsor and News)

Players will now get badges on the header tabs in the Striker and Messages sections of the game. This helps players understand what area they are being alerted to when they select the bottom tab alerts.

UI Updates in Striker and Sponsor tabs for iPad

To help with the extra width on iPad, we’ve expanded some UI elements to make it more aesthetically pleasing for iPad players.

Performance improvements & bug fixes throughout

We’re constantly attending to all your support issues and feature request, as well as reading reviews and bug reports. We’ve addressed many issues that you have sent through in v1.1.1, however we know we can’t catch them all, so please do continue to send through any issues you find by pressing the Help button in the game.

Update v1.1.1 is rolling out now on both iOS and Android. So make sure you update to the latest version to enjoy all of these great new features and improvements.

We hope you enjoy all these great new features, and we look forward to telling you more about what we have coming up in future updates.

iOS & Android Update 1.1.0 Released

We’ve listened to your feedback and reviews, and we will be releasing a number of improvements and features that we are sure all you Strikers will enjoy. Read on for the full details of what is in v1.1.0.

NEW: Restart game option

This highly requested feature allows players to restart their season and stats.

We didn’t want to clear everything out, so this first iteration of reset will clear your Striker stats and season progress. To do this, go into the Settings popup and select Reset Game and follow the onscreen prompts. Once reset you will start that game again by selecting a starting team, however you will have all your existing coins, level XP and cards from your previous sessions.

If you expected anything else to reset, we are always listening out on ways to improve any feature in the game, so please let us know via the Help button or tell us on Facebook or tweet us on Twitter.

NEW: Unlock sponsors and shop item badge alerts

As a way to alert you to new items unlocked in the shop or when training is finished, we have added badge alerts for the Shop and Striker tabs at the bottom of the screen.

This feature also joins the message area, where your agent will now tell you what boot or match card has unlocked as well as when your skill training has completed.

NEW: Quality Options (Choose: Auto, Max, Medium and Low)

We are aware that our players don’t all have the latest and greatest smartphones or tablets, so we’ve done some work on the general performance of the game that will help with low-end devices, as well as adding a new Quality setting feature that players can override to get better performance from their device.

Open the Settings popup and select the Quality option between Auto or any of the available sub options to change the quality level in the game. MAX is the best option that will give you everything, whilst LOW will reduce the crowd, remove blurring and disable match recording to give players a significant frame-rate boost.

Android: Striker TV recording

In the last version of Android, we had to remove the recording facility in the game, because it had dramatic performance issues.

In update v1.1.0, Android users can now record their gameplay and share their highlights with friends and family as well as share their highlights with our growing Striker TV community.

Android: Google Play Games Leaderboards and Achievements

Fans of achievements and leaderboards on Google Play can now submit their highest XP scores and unlock a variety of challenging achievements by logging into their Google Play Games account.

Bigger winnings for higher leagues

We are now rewarding players in higher leagues with much bigger payouts. Each league now has different season winning payouts, with ranges of 2,000 coins and XP, up to 10,000 coins and XP for PREM leagues.

Ghost defenders when Focus match card is used

Playing the Focus Match card didn’t give you a sense of reduced defenders on the pitch, so in this update we are now visualising this Match card with ghost defenders. Simply shoot through these ghost strikers as if they are not there.

Lots of improvements & bug fixes throughout

We’re constantly attending to all your issues and feature request as well as reading reviews and bug reports. We’ve addressed many issues that you have sent through in v1.1.0, however we know we can’t catch them all, so please do continue to send through any issues you find by pressing the Help button in the game.

Tiny Striker: World Football Update v1.0.18 Releases on iOS

Hot off the heels of the Android release of Tiny Striker: World Football on Monday, we are happy to announce the update for the iOS version is also available to download from the Apple App Store.

If you’re already a seasoned Striker, you’ll enjoy all the tiny improvements we’ve made in version 1.0.18 of the game, and there is no better time for new players to jump in and enjoy the great new features too!

So what’s new? Let’s fill you in…

image

News hub in Messages

To be able to communicate with our Strikers much faster, we’ve create a News area, where we can bring our players the latest updates and news directly from inside the game. Keep an eye out for updates from us that we will leave in this News section.

image

Popular videos filter in Striker TV

A popular request (if you excuse the pun) from our community of players, is the Popular tab - located in the Striker TV tab. Selecting this option, at the top of the Striker TV tab will display the most viewed videos.

Striker TV has been a great success for us. With over 7,120 members posting over 5,950 replays on our TSWF Everyplay channel. There’s some insane skills being featured by players and there’s certainly some crazy moments that has been recorded. So be sure to check those out in the Popular tab of Striker TV.

image

Display shirt and sponsor in customisation screen

We will be adding further Striker customisations in a future update, but in the interim, we’ve begun to evolve this area with the display of your Striker’s team shirt and currently sponsor.

We’ll have news on where we are taking Striker customisation when we’re ready to show more.

image

Confirmation of transfer

A popular feedback request is confirmation on team transfers. Many players are accidentally selecting the wrong team, and with higher league teams, this can prove costly!

You now have to tap the team and then press the confirm button on the team to initiate the new transfer.

image

Confirmation for purchasing cards in Shop and Match Preview

Continuing the confirmation feature above, we’ve also added this to all items in the shop, and also cards in the Match Preview popup.

This was also a popular request/issue from players of the game, with many accidentally buying cards and coins. So once again, we’ve added a confirmation before you spend your hard-earned coin.

image

Display MAX in training when training is at maximum

A few players kept asking how far they could train their Striker, so we thought it would be better to tell you exactly when training is maxed out, by displaying MAX in the training labels, as well as telling players when they have reached the maximum of their Power and Curl skills.

image

Improved Match Preview Popup

We had a number of players leave reviews and feedback about the inability to choose from more than three cards in the Match Preview popup. You could actually browse the cards you have earned or purchased, by scrolling horizontally, but this functionality wasn’t clear.

Because this wasn’t obvious to the player, we have changed it so this area now scrolls vertically. We’ve also expanded the height of the window slightly, to allow the second row to show through and encourage the player to scroll up/down to browse their inventory of cards.

image

Lowered access level to European teams

We’re constantly monitoring player progress and tweaking areas of the game that gives the best experience for all. We concluded that access to European teams was a little high, so we’ve lowered that a little to give experienced, non UK league fans the chance to get into European leagues much faster.

Improved stability, sync, offline play, energy regeneration

On top of all this, we’ve also be plugging holes and fixing various issues all over the game, to bring a more stable and better experience to our players.

We hope you enjoy these new features and improvements, and you can always reach out to us via the Help button in the game or via Twitter or Facebook.

Tiny Striker: World Football has been a fantastic success for us here at Fat Fish Games. Over the past few weeks we have seen the game explode on to the Apple App Store for iOS. Tiny Striker: World Football Android Development Update

We have had a number of fans of Tiny Striker: World Football asking when the release of the Android version will be available on the Google Play Store, and we don’t blame you!

We’ve been hard at work over the last few weeks getting the Android build ready. We decided to fix some issues with the game, based on feedback, and also implement some new features and improvements that make the game even better.

Sadly, as game development goes, nothing is that simple as popping something new in and everything works, so problems arise and that is why we had to make the call last week to delay the Android version until it was ready.

We want TSWF to be out as much as our fans do however, with the huge variety of spec that the Android platform has, we are sure we will still have issues after launch. Before we do release TSWF out of the gates on Android, our small team are doing our very best to reduce the possibilities of any repeat issues that we had during the iOS launch.

We are very, very close to release. After the iOS launch in February 16th, we’re being very careful in releasing the very best stable build we can for launch on Android.

Please follow us on Twitter and Facebook for the latest news on Android and also iOS updates.

Tiny Striker: World Football Tips - Match Difficulty

We’ve read reviews and received feedback from players having a difficult time in higher league matches, so we thought we would help you understand how the game works in this area and help you compete and win matches in League 1 or higher.

Team Difficulty (Star Rating)

Each team in the game has a difficulty level, and this is visually represented as a star rating (★) from half a star to 5 stars. A team difficulty of 10 will have a star rating of half a ★, whilst a team’s difficulty rating of 100 would have a ★★★★★ rating.

Match Difficulty (Rate of Score Bar Drop)

If you play a ★ star rating team against a ★★★ or higher star team rating the rate in which the score bar drops will be significant and very challenging. So it pays to transfer to a better team that has a difficult star rating that matches or comes close to matching your opponent.

Transfer to Better Teams (Reduces difficulty in higher leagues)

Transferring to better quality (higher ★ teams) will make your higher league matches much easier. Look out for the team’s star rating when transferring and compare these to the teams you are playing in the league. Match this ★ value or better it to compete against them.

Train Your Skills!

Head into the Striker tab and train your power and curl skills. This is free and just takes time to complete. For the impatient, you can rush skill training by paying Tiny Coins.

Training skills are permanent boosters that really help with matches. Boosting Power skill will allow you to kick balls faster and boosting the Curl skill will allow you to bend your ball much tighter around defenders and reach teammates more easily.

Lob when needed

Swipe down the screen will lob the ball. This becomes more required in higher league matches where defender grids and walls are more complex, where you can lob the ball over defenders to reach a teammate if you wish to score quicker.

The lob has been designed to be slow and less powerful, so it cannot be used in every shot. However with the right flick you could score enough (albeit slowly) to earn a fireball, but the risk is up to you to attempt this.

We hope this helps you compete more in higher league matches. We will have more help and tips on the game soon.
