Got a good station build down that you would like to share? Use this template and add in the buildings that you use with a description of what the goal is with the station build and how to effectively use it on the playing field.

I would love to see some station builds that people like.

As a noob to the game I have no idea what I should be focusing and how early choices will ultimately affect my end game strategyā€¦ assuming it doesā€¦

Yes they do.

When it comes to station builds you want to follow a certain pattern of building types.
Military, Domain, Industrial and following this pattern you can choose any one of these for each sectionā€¦but these are the main builds you should follow when constructing a station.

7/4/2 -
7: This allows you to choose outposts and organizations all the way up to tier 4 for that type.
4: This allows you to choose outposts and organizations all the way up to tier 3 for that type.
2: This allows you to choose outposts and organizations all the way up to tier 2 for that type.

7/6/0 -
7: This allows you to choose outposts and organizations all the way up to tier 4 for that type.
6: This allows you to choose outposts up to tier 3 but an organization up to tier 4 for that type.
0: The third type is left out for the benefit of a tier 4 organization of a secondary type.

So when you base build, the mindset is almost more like ā€œwhich type am I not going to focusā€ because realistically there are two stronger types according to these patterns.

Not necessarily you can work with a lot of different combinations of this to be beneficial:

You may want to build ships but keep resources coming in at a decent rate. Military and industrial right? Well if you take a look at the buildings there is also one in domain that increases the stations harvest rateā€¦this would fit nicely into this, plus there are NPCā€™s covering most of the good spotsā€¦BUT if you look at their claim rate you can actually take care of this with Governors Mansion which is also a domain buildingā€¦this would work well with the 7/4/2 build and everything works like it is meant to.

So while creating a station build, the main key is what do you want it to do and what buildings can help you accomplish that. Some may not even follow the 7/6/0 or 7/4/2ā€¦but these just give you a bit more options to work with.

I guess as being ultra new, I do not understand what you mean by 7/4/2 or 7/6/0?

After a couple days here, it became appearant to me that time management is just as important as every other aspect or valuable resource. Initial base build, atleast in my opinion, needs to be heavily focused on harvesting/development/upgrades. I used up the time speed up cards quickly despite my desire to hoard them because again wasting any length of time delays progress. I found it more lucrative to always be generating resources rather than attempting more RAIDS.

My overall conclusion: First Station needs to be functional in order to do anything. Build and continue to upgrade all 3 of the resource buildings and the Labor building. Chose a faction that best bonuses your resources and building needs, strength comes with growth! :face_with_monocle:

Im new, but not ultra new. The 7/4/2 or whichever format is Domain/Military/Industrial buildingsā€¦or whichever build you are afterā€¦I thinkā€¦

Its very, VERY easy to make a mistake when building a base. Hopefully at some point a form of ā€˜base building assistantā€™ will appear. It would be nice to design a full build without spending days on end doing it.

There are 13 building slots (above the basic construction and habitation modules), so thatā€™s why 7/6/0 and 7/4/2 both sum to 13. The part Iā€™m not getting now is that t4 would have to be filled before youā€™d get to 7/6/0 or 7/4/2 unless youā€™re including outposts.

Ok let me make this a bit more clear when you are constructing your station, in most situations you will be deciding the outposts and organizations you want to use for that station FIRST.

A tier 4 outpost requires the use of 7 buildings of a single type

7 Military Buildings - Heavy Ship Assembly
7 Domain Buildings - Habitation Dome
7 Industrial Buildings - Mining Colony

The choice for your outpost will be your primary type for the station.

Second, you will want to choose what is the most important tier 4 organization that you will want.

6 buildings of a single type - Tier 4 Oraganization
(Good tip for organization typeā€¦look at the resource requirements Metal is for Military, Gas is for Domain, Crystal is for Industrial. The highest cost will show you which one it is.)

Once you have your Tier 4 outpost and your Tier 4 organization chosen you will find out the two priority types you are going for.

The reason for the 7/6/0 and 7/4/2 is because these combinations will give you the most choices of outposts and organizations that you can possibly get. Here are the requirements for the different tier outpost and different tier organizations:

Outposts:
T4 - 7
T3 - 4
T2 - 2
T1 - 0

Organizations:
T4 - 6
T3 - 4
T2 - 2
T1 - 0
