General
What Is Inflyte?
Inflyte is a music promotion platform that allows you to send branded digital campaigns direct to your tastemakers for feedback. Inflyte provides innovative campaign monitoring tools, real-time-reporting and advanced mailing list management tools to create efficiencies at all stages of the process. We deliver on mobile, email and direct to the recipient’s dashboards. Inflyte uses web-standard SSL security encryption to ensure client data, contacts and content is as secure as possible. All Inflyte users and clients navigate the site over a secure 128-bit encrypted connection.
How does Inflyte work?
You upload your mailing list of tastemakers contacts and we will automatically send them an opt-in request via email and directly to their dashboards/apps for existing users. Create a promo campaign by uploading your digital assets (audio, images, press release), choose your intended recipients and then push your campaign out to your tastemakers. Inflyte will then gather feedback, analytics and other campaign data in real-time which can all be collated in a detailed, customised PDF report.
How do I get in contact with you?
Email help@inflyteapp.com and one of our team will get back to you asap.
Mailing Lists
Do Inflyte provide mailing lists?
Inflyte does not provide mailing lists, you are required to import your own. If you don’t have access to your own mailing list, please contact info@inflyteapp.com and we may be able to refer you to one of our many PR Partners who are using Inflyte.
I’ve been using another promo platform, how can i import my list into Inflyte?
Most platforms will allow you to export your lists in CSV or Excel format. Your mailing list can then be easily imported as CSV. You can also add contacts manually one by one if you wish. Please contact your account manager to assist with this if necessary.
I’ve got lots of different lists, how can I set them up in Inflyte?
Inflyte uses tagging instead of lists. Tags are a very efficient and effective way of managing your contacts and building campaigns. You can segment your lists and target your mailouts with precision. Your account manager can talk you through this.
How do i inform my tastemakers i’m using Inflyte?
As soon as you add your list of contacts to Inflyte, we will automatically send them an invite. You can also choose to mail them personally before adding them to Inflyte, to inform them about the upcoming migration. We will automatically send a further three reminders to tastemakers who haven’t responded to the first invite. If anyone still hasn’t opted-in, you’ll need to contact them individually with a link which is generated by clicking on their name in the subscriber list.
What is your anti-spam policy?
Inflyte clients can only send campaigns to tastemakers who have opted-in to receive them. This ensures that that everyone receiving your campaigns has given you permission to do so. They can opt out at any time.
Can I send an Inflyte campaign to someone who is not using Inflyte?
Inflyte campaigns can only be sent to opted in subscribers, and the campaigns will only display for those people whom it has been specifically sent to. However you can click “Media Link” within the campaign window and this will generate a stream-only version of the campaign which can be sent to anyone, regardless of whether they have an account or not. You will have to send this from your personal account and please note that stats and reactions will not be collected automatically.
Can I add multiple emails for one person?
We recommend only adding one contact per person to avoid sending multiple notifications to people across different email addresses. Inflyte works best with one single login. Please contact your account manager for assistance with this.
I’ve added an email for someone but it’s changed to a different email address?
Recipients are able to specify their preferred email address, and add all their other email addresses as aliases of that. So even if you add the old email address, it will automatically update to their preferred email.
Why do my contacts have to opt-in?
Inflyte is a permission-based promo platform for music. There is enough music consigned to spam filters all around the world without Inflyte being part of that problem. We want your contacts to pay attention to the music you are sending, to access it ahead of music they receive on other platforms and to ensure you get the best results for your campaigns.
What if my contacts don’t opt-in?
There are only three reasons a contact may not opt-in:
- The email address is incorrect
- They don’t wish to receive your music (not their style)
- They don’t know who you are
In order to address these factors, there are a number of options in place:
- Please ask your account manager to scan your list and see how many contacts are currently active on Inflyte. We can also tell how many emails have bounced once you have added it.
- It’s important that you have put together a well-curated list. A hard techno DJ will most likely not be interested in a Funky House EP, and vice versa. It’s better to have a concise, well targeted list than a large list of unsuitable contacts.
- You need to add a well-written label description in your promo settings - this text is included on the invites. For lesser known labels it may be helpful to list artists that have appeared on the label as their name recognition can be advantageous. If someone hasn’t opted in yet, and you feel that they will appreciate your campaigns, you can also send a personal invite from your own email address with a unique opt-in link.
Please talk with your account manager for our best practice guide on maximising opt-ins
How do i know my invites and campaigns will be delivered?
Because Inflyte is a secure opt-in platform, Inflyte emails are white-listed with all major global mail servers to ensure as high a deliverability rate as possible across all mail providers. All mail is securely signed on our servers to ensure maximum deliverability so as to avoid spam-filters. In addition, any existing users of Inflyte will receive the campaign invite directly to their dashboards, and users of the app will receive a push notification.
Sending Campaigns
How do I use Tags to segment my list?
You can set up your preferred tags and assign people to them. When you click “New Push” to send a campaign, you can choose to send to just one tag, several tags or everyone in your list. Clicking 2 or more tags will select only the cross section of people who are tagged with each of the tags. Clicking “Any” will select the total amount of people in both tags. In addition you can review the people you have added and remove anyone manually before sending.
None of my contacts are showing up when I click New Push?
Inflyte is setup to handle multiple different sub labels with individual lists if required. If you invited people manually on the Master Subscriber list, then you need to assign them to one or more label lists before you can send a campaign to them. You can add people in bulk to a label list directly. Please contact your account manager if you need any assistance.
How can I remind someone to leave feedback on a campaign?
If recipients haven’t listened to a campaign and you have set reminders to “Automatic”, these recipients will receive two automated reminders, each spaced seven days apart, If you have set your reminders to manual, then you can remind them up to two times by clicking the “Sent” tile within a campaign and then “Remind” beside that person’s name. Alternatively you can generate a link to the campaign and send it in a personal reminder email by clicking the little speech bubble icon beside a person’s name in the “Sent” list.
I’ve made a mistake on the campaign, how can I fix it?
Please ensure that all audio and titles are correct before clicking “New Push”, as that locks the campaign and no further edits can be made. If you need to update the press release, this can be done at any time within the campaign by clicking “Edit Details”. If the title or audio needs to be changed, please email help@inflyteapp.com
What audio formats can I use for my campaigns?
We support Wav, AIFF and MP3. In the Settings area users are able to select which file type they prefer to download, with them being able to download the maximum quality file type you offer. If you upload a Wav file, then users will be able to choose between all three formats. Uploading an AIFF delivers both AIFF and MP3, and uploading MP3 delivers only MP3.
Do I need to edit the metadata of my audio files before upload?
MP3 or AIFF both support metadata, and you need to add this yourself before you upload either format. Standard format WAV cannot support metadata, however Inflyte will automatically populate the metadata when it transcodes WAV to AIFF and MP3 with the artist, release name and artwork.
I’ve updated the metadata with the Artist name but the downloaded file name doesn’t reflect that?
The actual file name is different from the metadata itself. The metadata only displays when an audio file is played in an audio program. The filename is the name used for the actual file stored on your computer’s hard drive. For this reason we recommend that the filename itself includes the artist and track name to make it easier to identify once downloaded. You can do this on Mac OS by selecting the file in finder and pressing “Return” on your keyboard, then renaming the file. On Windows, select the file and right click, then “Rename”.
How do I embed artwork into the metadata of my MP3 and AIFF files?
The easiest way is to import your tracks into iTunes. Select the files you wish to amend. Right Click> Get Info> Artwork > Add.
Watermarking
What is digital audio watermarking?
Digital watermarking allows you to protect your digital content through the embedding (hiding) of a secret digital signature (digital code) into your audio content that can be used for anti-piracy protection. The information cannot be removed without damaging the audio quality.
How does it work?
Inflyte can inject a unique identifier into your audio that can help identify the source in the event of pre-release content leaking online. Watermarks are imperceptible (inaudible) but can be retrieved by account holders to verify the identity of the contents intended recipients.
Each recipient receives their own copy of audio with a unique signature, traceable to them.
What formats can you watermark?
Inflyte can deliver watermarked WAV, AIFF, MP3 files
One of my audio files has leaked, what can i do?
If you subscription includes watermarking features you can simply upload the shared version of the file the Inflyte leak-checker within the campaign in question and we will tell you if the source was one of your contacts.
How robust is it?
Inflyte uses US patented technology that ensures watermarks are inaudible and highly-robust, surviving low bitrate transcoding with lossy coders, mixing, effect processing, acoustic coupling (transducing via air) and time stretching.
For more information on Inflyte watermarking speak to one of our team.
Digests
What is a Digest email?
Digest emails group any new campaigns and reminders into one convenient summary - your recipients will not get any individual notification or reminder emails. These emails are tailored exactly for each recipient and only include notifications relevant to them. Digest emails are only recommended if you are sending a high volume of unique campaigns in a week.
How do I set up a Digest email?
In order to activate digests, first go to your promo settings, click “edit” and then tick the box to enable digest notifications. Then when building a campaign you will see the tickbox option in each one which will allow you to specify whether you want that to be a part of the digest emails or not.
I set a campaign to Digest but no-one has received it yet?
After you push a campaign out on Digest, it’s not actually sent to anyone yet. The notifications are all grouped on your dashboard until a time that you decide to send the digest email. Go to your main dashboard and you’ll see a link to ‘review and send’ the digest.
How do I remove someone from a digest once I’ve sent it?
Once you’ve sent a campaign to someone in digest form, you can’t remove them from the digest.
Can I cancel a digest once I’ve sent it?
In certain cases this can be done, but it’s not always possible. Please contact us on help@inflyteapp.com to check
Generating URLs
Can I give someone a link to sign up to my receive my campaigns?
Yes, but you must first have added their contact to your subscriber list. The links are different depending on whether the contact is an existing Inflyte user or not. Please contact us to talk further about this
Is there a link I can send subscribers to view only my campaigns?
Yes. The unique URL for your campaign page is displayed in “Promo Settings” in the drop down menu underneath your name, located in the top right hand corner of the dashboard.
Can I send someone a link to a campaign?
You can can generate a URL for each campaign by clicking on the “Sent” Tile, then clicking the speech bubble icon beside any contact’s name. Note that these URLs will ONLY work for people you have sent the campaign to. For anyone else you must first push the campaign to them, or if they are not an Inflyte user, you can send them the stream only Media link.
Reporting
How can I generate a campaign report?
Click the “Report” icon in the campaign window. You can choose from a number of display options, and also add custom text if you wish, then click “Generate New Report”. This generates a PDF report.
I want to edit the PDF report, how can I do this?
PDF files are non-editable, however there are two solutions. You can either highlight and copy the text into a document to make your own edits, or you can click on the “View All” tile within the campaign window, and then “Download”. This downloads a raw word document file which you can edit and reformat if you need to.
I want to hide someone’s feedback from the report, how can I do this?
If you click on the “Ratings” tile within the campaign, you can then search for that person’s feedback and click the “Hide” button beside it and it will not show up in the PDF report.
Someone emailed their feedback directly, how can I add this in?
If you click on the “Sent” tile within the campaign, search for that person’s name. Then click the “+Feedback” button and you can enter their feedback manually
How do I separate my reports into different categories?
Go to “Promo Settings”, then scroll down and add report categories of your choice. Re-order them into your preferred order of display. Then add people to the report categories by clicking on their name in the subscriber list and choosing the appropriate Report category dropdown.

I’m receiving Inflyte promos to the wrong email or to multiple email addresses, how can I merge them?
Sometimes labels will have multiple contacts for one person. You can choose your preferred email address, and add all other possible emails as aliases of that primary email. To do this, login to the account that you want to use as your primary email. Then go to “Settings” and click the icon to “add an email alias”. Add your other email. You will receive a confirmation email to that address, and once you confirm, it will be added as an alias - repeat for any other email addresses you may have. What this means is that any label sending an invite or promo to one of your alias emails, will automatically be forwarded to your primary email address instead.
Error Messages and Issues
I’m getting the error message “You need to sign in or sign up before continuing.”
If it is your very first time using Inflyte, then you need to click the link within the invite email to set up your account. If you are an existing Inflyte user, then just enter the password you chose upon signup. If you cannot remember it, you need to click the “Forgot Your Password?” link and you can reset your password.
I’m getting the error message “You can not view this page with your current login.”
You are getting this error message because you have more than one email address registered to Inflyte and you are logged in with an email address which differs from the one the promo or invite was sent to you on. To see which one is logged in, just click the “Login” button on the top right. If you click on the name/email address on the top right and “logout” then you can login with the correct account. You can add all your email addresses as aliases of one primary email, and this problem will not occur again. See above for directions on how to do that.
The tracks won’t play
If you are using certain browser extensions, it’s possible that those extensions are blocking audio playback. Please disable all extensions and see if it works. If it is still not working, please contact us on help@inflyteapp.com
