Ypso-Facto will be attending the 9th edition of the Congrès France Bioproduction, taking place on March 19-20, 2025, at the International Congress Center in Tours. Workshop Spotlight: 📌 Title: Prediction of the impact of Critical Process Parameters on Critical Quality Attributes by statistical vs mechanistic models – Application to a viral protein purified by ion exchange chromatography 🎙 Speakers: Lucrèce Nicoud (Ypso-Facto) & Eric FORMA (Sanofi) Accurately predicting the impact of Critical Process Parameters (CPPs) on Critical Quality Attributes (CQAs) is essential for regulatory compliance, process robustness, and optimization. While statistical models are commonly used, they have limitations, including high experimental workload and limited predictive capability. In this workshop, we will showcase how mechanistic modeling, based on physico-chemical principles, offers a strong alternative—enhancing process understanding, scalability, and efficiency while reducing the need for extensive experimentation. This study, conducted in collaboration with Sanofi, highlights the advantages of mechanistic modeling for viral protein purification via ion exchange chromatography. Attending the event? Mechanistic Modeling and Chromatography with ENSAIA - Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Agronomie et des Industries Alimentaires Last week, we hosted the second session of our Practical Workshop on Chromatography with ENSAIA students. 👉 This session focused on the application of mechanistic models in chromatography, combining theory and practice to better understand complex separation processes. A key case study was the separation of sugars using multi-column chromatography, where students explored how predictive modeling can be used to optimize purification strategies. These concepts were then applied in a practical session, allowing students to bridge the gap between simulation and real-world applications. A great opportunity to demonstrate how mechanistic modeling enhances process understanding and efficiency! 🎯

New leadership, shared ambition "Nearly six years ago, we joined the Ypso-Facto journey, eager to contribute and learn from a company driven by science and innovation. What we found exceeded our expectations: a unique environment, remarkable people, and exciting challenges at the crossroads of chemistry, biology, and process engineering. Today, we are proud to take over the leadership of the company and continue the journey initiated by Roger-Marc. With complementary experiences—spanning industrial operations and scientific modeling—we are committed to driving forward our vision: helping the biopharmaceutical industry accelerate and secure its processes through a rigorous scientific approach. Mechanistic modeling is one of the most advanced expressions of this mindset—bringing clarity, efficiency, and robustness to process development—but it’s just one part of the broader expertise we aim to deliver. We look forward to shaping the next chapters of Ypso-Facto together with our talented team, trusted partners, and valued clients." Lucrèce Nicoud et Edouard Nicoud
