Startups depend on how quickly they can move and adapt to the market. Speed is one of the major factors in deciding whether a startup will be successful or not. Cross-platform tools and a single programming language can streamline development, saving time and resources. A great example of this principle is the Australian fam-tech company Eggy. The idea for the Eggy app originated from a personal experience that co-founders Kate Morgan and Kirk Reynoldson (former National Rugby League star) faced when they received a substantial fine for forgetting to renew their family's car registration. Kate and Kirk approached with a request to help their current team build a Flutter mobile application for their startup Eggy. Our team helped in-house engineers develop two mobile apps for iOS and Android platforms and a web app. This led them to create a startup, became proud Startmate alumni, and one of the fastest growing fam- and worktech companies in Australia and New Zealand. In today's world, we're increasingly recognizing the importance of not only physical but also mental health. Technology has brought self-care tools directly to us, through devices and online platforms that support our overall well-being. Dr. Sarah Adler, Stanford Professor of Psychiatry and Clinical Psychologist, founded Wave to provide affordable mental care, on people’s own time. To bring this vision to life, we collaborated closely with the in-house engineers to develop iOS and Android applications using Flutter, Dart, Firebase, and Unity. These apps feature self-guided exercises, quizzes, session scheduling with coaches, and daily check-ins to support users in managing their mental health effectively. When Flutter for Web was in the early beta stage, we took on a compelling Metrics project targeting this new technology. As a way to choose a vendor, the client was looking for a Flutter agency that could run automated tests for their Flutter for Web project to ensure project quality 💪 The challenge was accepted! We had to work on a master channel that included not-released features of Flutter and add some tooling, but we could make it work. It was the start of a long-term partnership that resulted in a successful release. This project was later acquired by Google as part of Flank 📊 After years of successful cooperation, the client told us that they approached 10 other leading Flutter companies, all of whom were tasked with solving the same problem with automated tests. However, we were the only ones capable of making it work then 🌟 Working as a high-performance team we introduced a lot of improvements to our process and monitored success using an independent third party - Haystack. They concluded that our team has “accomplished elite-level code quality, resulting in an impressive 85% reduction in Cycle Time, a remarkable 200% increase in Deployment Frequency, and an astonishing 455% boost in Throughput”. Just think about the remarkable advancements we've witnessed in the past few years, from the emergence of flying drones to autonomous delivery robots navigating streets. ODrive is one of the companies that help make it happen by producing components like motors, controllers, and encoders for robots. They are creating key components for robotics projects with different levels of complexity. ODrive motors are used to build projects such as Stanford Doggo and Michigan Tech's water-seeking lunar rover. We partnered with ODrive to build a web application that will transform the process of configuring and setting up robotic controllers and motors. Thanks to the new graphical user interface, the configuration time has become six times faster with reduced configuration errors.
