GREAT BAY COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Nestled in southeast New Hampshire in the city of Portsmouth, Great Bay Community Collegeโ€™s location is one of its best features. The city is home to a number of historic buildings, such as the Jackson House (built in 1664) and the Music Hall (built in 1878). It is also near the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, which became the United Statesโ€™ first naval base in 1800. Of course, location isnโ€™t Great Bay Community Collegeโ€™s only virtue. The school offers diverse academics in one-year and two-y... ear programs, in subjects from Accounting to Spa Management. Most of the two-year programs are Associate of Science degrees, in growing fields like Biotechnology and Computer Sciences. However, GBCC also has a few Associate of Arts programs, such as American Studies. To bolster its academics, GBCCโ€™s For Your Education (FYE) works with departments and students to ensure a positive college experience. Students can use FYE as a resource to answer questions and provide assistance. Because of its proximity to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Great Bay Community College presents one particularly unique opportunity to its students. The Portsmouth Progression Program and Apprenticeship allows GBCC to gain on-the-job experience at the shipyard. Be sure to visit the website often to check on openings in this program, as availability changes frequently.
