GREENE COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

GCEDC whose mission is to enhance residents quality of life by creating an atmosphere that will increase the tax base, foster wealth creation, and create and retain jobs was formed when it became clear that there was a need for a professionally run industrial development operation. GCEDC was first completely funded by purdue university and it was incorporated in with backing from the county. Initiating economic development strategies on behalf of call away town fell under the scope of GCEDC. The thirteen-member board of directors of the private non-profit GCEDC employs an effective system for business, workforce, and industrial progress. A board of directors and an investorship group made establishment of separate businesses and people manage the autonomous company.
