Since 1979 Health Net has provided coverage to Californians, regardless of health or stage of life. Health Net was originally founded as a non-profit corporation. In 1992 it became a for-profit company, and in 2015 Health Net, LLC, was acquired by the Centene Corporation. Today, 85% of members are covered by a government-sponsored health plan and are served by 85,000 provider partners. Health Net now serves 3 million members across California.
