The program at Helene Fuid College of Nursing in New York City is designed specifically for Licensed Practical Nurses who would like to transition into a career in Registered Nursing. Prior to starting one’s degree program at Helene Fuid all students undergo a six-week refresher and preparation course. Since those who attend are already licensed in the field of practical nursing, the program only takes one year to complete. During their time of study, students complete courses in relevant n... ursing procedures and techniques as well as in the Liberal Arts and Sciences. They also go through clinical training in area hospitals and medical facilities. When students are ready to graduate and find full-time employment, the Career Services department will help them to prepare and look for a job. Tutoring and comprehensive services for disabled students are also available to Helene Fuid students. Helene Fuid has a rolling admissions policy. Applicants should have been employed as an LPN for at least one year prior to applying. They will also need to have an interview at Helene Fuid and submit three recommendation letters as well as an application. A variety of scholarships as well as grants and loans may be awarded to students with a financial need who meet other eligibility requirements.More
