It is an inflatable tube-shaped structure made of three highly durable, industry proven plastic films with a length of 220 m, an aperture of 7.8 m and a thermal power of 0.9 MWpth. It works in the same way as a parabolic trough by concentrating sunlight on a linear thermal receiver. The collector provides clean thermal energy (industrial heat) in a temperature range of 90°C to over 550°C for up to 24 hours per day. With its highly competitive and stable price levels, it is perfectly suited for e.g. emission-free water desalination and many other industrial processes normally powered by fossil fuels and economically unattractive for solar competitors.
