Residents of Holyoke, Massachusetts, and surrounding areas can get an academic or professional education and prepare for work or for four-year transfer by attending Holyoke Community College. Holyoke also offers many enjoyable ways for students to get involved in the school community. There are more than 50 student clubs, which include creative arts, religious, special interest and cultural groups. Students may also start a new club whenever they wish. Prospective students will first need to fill out an application for admission, submit transcripts, and then take an assessment test for placement purposes. More than half of Holyoke students receive financial aid. Loans, federal and state grants, work-study and scholarships are all available to eligible students. Eligibility is based on such factors as income. Also, students must attend at least part-time to receive certain forms of aid like loans and scholarships.More
