We’re inviting our community of hosts and guests to expect more from their cinema experience. More than just another way to watch a movie, Hoovie screenings become containers for social connection and exchange, coco... oned in the art of hospitality. First to market, Hoovie exists at the intersection of arts and culture, social networking and the experience economy, connecting people with quality film content and communities of interest through immersive, conversational cinema experiences in both private and commercial spaces. Our marketplace is modelled off multi-sided platforms in the music industry like Sofar Sounds and Airbnb Concerts, which bring live music into intimate/private spaces at scale. Users access Hoovie’s catalog of pre-licensed, high-quality and conversation-sparking films, special feature content such as video interviews with filmmakers, event software to promote and manage ticket sales, plus resources and tools to make marketing and promotions a breeze. The box office take is split between hosts, film rights holders and Hoovie. Hosts can choose to keep or donate their share to a bespoke list of causes. We also help brands, organizations and film festivals to engage their audiences through co-branded films in our catalog and themed screening series. Overall, we want to do for film what Airbnb did for travel and redefine the movie-going experience to be social, human and conversational.
