HATS leased its first web servers in 1998. The internet was evolving and bandwidth was expanding. Microsoft Active Server Pages seemed like a logical path to follow and soon we were providing solutions for existing real estate clients. It didn’t take long to realize that PHP and MySQL would be the better language and database utility for HATS Software and, after a few months, AgentAve IDX Services were released in 2001-02. HATS was first in the local market and the IDX data feed was very... popular with the local real estate professionals. HATS also developed online auction software for fund raising. Originally developed in 1998 using ASP, it too, has undergone revisions over the years. It was rewritten using PHP3 in 2001 and has been continually upgraded since. The two major users are the Lebanon Elementary School in Lebanon, Maine and ( les5th.org ) and Royal Family Kids’ Camp of Saco, Maine ( royalkidscamp.org ). Both of these organizations have annual week long auctions and have raised thousands of dollars for their causes. In recent years, HATS has expanded into other avenues of software solutions for real estate. Web sites using included versions of data to enhance SEO and a WordPress plugins are a couple of examples of the ever changing landscape for real estate. Our current focus is responsive web design. HATS is working on sites and version that dynamically fit into the ever increasing size and type of screen available.
